The Nokia 6108 is a 2003 model mobile phone which is compatible with Rogers Wireless and Microcell Fido. It operates on the frequencies of GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, For this phone to be able to operate on Rogers Wireless or Microcell Fido, if not purchased at the respective retailers, one must make sure this phone does not have a sim-lock and ensure it is unlocked. Nokia Corporation is the most prolific maker of mobile phones and thus the world’s largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer.
Nokia is a great mobile phone company that has really come into its own as a leading provider in the mobile phone market. The Nokia 6103 is a virtual twin of the Nokia 6102i, which are upgrades of Nokia’s very reliable 6101 and 6102 models. The phone weighs 97 grams. The phone’s dimensions are 85 X 24 mm, which can be considered rather compact by today’s mobile phone standards.
Nokia doesn’t focus on flip phones, so the previous flip models we’ve reviewed–the Nokia 6170 and the Nokia 7270–didn’t impress us. Now with the Nokia 6101, however, Nokia has made a more successful attempt at the flip-phone form factor. Available in black with T-Mobile or in white as an unlocked version (Cingular offers the similar Nokia 6102), the 6101 offers a solid set of midrange features in an attractive, compact design.
Alike the 6610/7210, the 6100 comes with the new feature sets supporting colour (4096-colour LCD screen and menus), polyphonic tones and speakerphone, multimedia messaging (MMS), tri-band support (GSM 900/1800/1900) and the new 4-way navigational key. Remember that complaint I had with the 7210’s power and volume buttons being hard to press? Love the big size of the volume buttons, which controls both earpiece and speakerphone volumes.
